Hydraulic presses from ProHandling

Hydraulic presses can be found in every industrial company today. Their classic applications are bending, straightening, pressing, punching and deep drawing.

There are a variety of hydraulic presses manufacturers and any number of different types with pressures or press forces ranging from 30 tons to over 1000 tons.

Common types of hydraulic presses are straightening presses, portal presses, workshop presses. C-type presses and deep drawing presses.

Workshop presses are a simple type of hydraulic press. These are inexpensive to procure and easy to use. These hydraulic presses are mostly used for the bending and straightening of smaller components or for the pressing in of bearings.

Workshop presses usually have compressive forces of 30t to 200t.

C-type presses are very compact hydraulic presses which are mainly used in industry for smaller series. They are space-saving and via their software there are many adjustment possibilities. These hydraulic presses are used for punching or pressing in. C-frame presses are used from 30t- 500t

These hydraulic presses are widely used in the automotive industry and are extremely different from simple workshop or C-frame presses. Deep-drawing presses are very large and are used for deep-drawing sheet metal. That is, they give metal sheets a shape. Compressive forces above 1000t are not uncommon. Also very interesting from the technical standard, most of these hydraulic presses have internet of things. If there is a problem, the hydraulic press manufacturer can remotely access the press and see what the problem is and fix it.

What should be observed in general with hydraulic presses?

Now one cannot directly compare a deep drawing press with a workshop press. But there are things about both that you should be aware of when buying a hydraulic press.

Don’t just compare the obvious!

It’s the things you don’t see at first glance that count. The inner values. Manufacturers indicate what their press can do and what pressures can be achieved. Annoying when the workshop press does not achieve the advertised 200T printing power. The difference is often the built-in hydraulic pump, a point where hydraulic press manufacturers can save without anyone seeing it. Of course it is also good if you can feel the press or see it in a video. This gives you a feeling for the processing, how easy and good everything can be operated. Also the design of the steel construction is extremely important and it makes sense to fall back on a manufacturer with development department, because this can represent the durability at any time.

Where can I see hydraulic presses?

We, ProHandling, would like to show our customers all our machines as real as possible. We realize this with videos of the hydraulic presses, which go into detail. Since some things simply have to be seen in real life, or that is important for many customers, the machines can be inspected and tested in our warehouse. Or simply visit us at our next exhibition stand.
